Short description
A vengeful spirit has taken the form of the Tooth Fairy to exact vengeance on the town that lynched her 150 years earlier. Her only opposition is the only child, now grown up, who has survived her before.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The end credits run for 11 minutes. They were extended because otherwise the film was considered too short for theatrical release.
  • The sensory deprivation chamber is, in fact, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner.
  • One of the script versions stipulated that the creature would only appear at the very end of the film. The studio executives didn't like this, and Stan Winston (1946-2008) was hired to create a different Tooth Fairy. The resulting creature had nothing in common with the first version proposed by Steve Wang, however, McFarlane Toys released a figurine of the creature created by Wang.
  • The creator of the first version of "Tooth Fairy," Steve Wang, claims he came up with an "Angel of Death," but this image had to be abandoned due to changes in the plot. Initially, the "Tooth Fairy" makeup was applied to actor Doug Jones.
  • Matilda Dixon's wails in the film are recorded heavy sighs and groans of a sleeping elderly woman. In the moments where Matilda screams, the recording was sped up, while where she breathes heavily and makes other sounds, the recording was slowed down.
