Shutter

Shutter follows Tun, a photographer, and his girlfriend Jane, who hit a young woman with their car on a rural road at night and drive away without stopping. They try to return to ordinary life in Bangkok, but the incident refuses to stay buried. Jane is troubled by disturbing dreams, while Tun begins finding strange shadowy figures in the photographs he takes. When the pair go back to the scene to look into what happened, they find no trace of the victim and no record of a body being recovered. At the same time, people close to Tun start dying, pushing the couple to work out what is pursuing them before it destroys their lives. The film is a Thai horror mystery directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom, who also wrote the screenplay with Sophon Sakdaphisit. It was the first feature directed by both men, and it was followed by their later collaborations, including Alone in 2007, and by Banjong Pisanthanakun's subsequent films. Ananda Everingham plays Tun and Natthaweeranuch Thongmee plays Jane. The film took about 7 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 7 out of 10 from roughly 53,000 votes, while on TMDB it scores 7.3 from around 1,455 votes, with critics rating it 5.3 from 23 reviews.
