Christmas Eve in Miller's Point

Christmas Eve in Miller's Point follows an Italian-American family gathering at their long-held home on Long Island for what may be their final holiday there, as the house appears likely to be sold. Relatives arrive through the evening and the rooms fill with food, decorations and overlapping conversations, while small frictions surface between the generations. Amid the commotion, teenager Emily slips away from the adults to meet friends and spend the night roaming the wintry suburb on her own terms.

Tyler Taormina directed and co-wrote the film with Eric Berger, following his 2015 debut Suburban Legends. The cast is led by Matilda Fleming as Emily, with Maria Dizzia and Ben Shenkman as her parents Kathleen and Lenny. Francesca Scorsese, Elsie Fisher and Michael Cera also appear among a credited cast of 58.

Released in November 2024, the film runs 107 minutes and was produced across Argentina, Hong Kong and the United States. On IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from around 2,800 votes, and on TMDB 5.3 from a much smaller poll. A critics' score of 6.6 from 79 reviews places professional response noticeably above the audience ratings.
