The One

The One is a 2001 science fiction action film about parallel universes and the people who inhabit them. Gabriel Yulaw, an agent of a bureau that polices travel between realities, has been hunting down and killing his own counterparts across those worlds. Each killing leaves him stronger, and he has eliminated all but one of them. That last double is Gabe Law, a Los Angeles police officer with an ordinary life and a wife, who becomes the only obstacle left in Yulaw's path. Two agents from the bureau, Roedecker and Funsch, are also on Yulaw's trail, and the three men converge as the two remaining versions of the same person come into conflict.

Jet Li plays both Gabe Law and Gabriel Yulaw, with Carla Gugino as T.K. Law and Delroy Lindo and Jason Statham as the pursuing agents. James Wong directed and wrote the screenplay with Glen Morgan, following his debut Final Destination and preceding Final Destination 3 and Dragonball Evolution in his filmography as director.

Made for a budget of 49 million dollars, the film took in about 73 million dollars worldwide. It has a rating of 5.9 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 100,000 votes, and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from around 1,800 votes.
