With Love and a Major Organ

Set in an alternate reality where people have hearts made of physical objects and social norms encourage the suppression of feelings, the story follows Anabel, a lonely virtual insurance broker. In a society that values pragmatism over emotion, Anabel decides to remove her own heart to give it to George, a man she loves who is unusually insensitive. While this sacrifice initially makes her life simpler, George begins to experience intense emotions, causing conflict with his controlling mother, Mona. Anabel soon discovers that George has fled with her heart, and she must recover the organ to survive.
