Bitter Christmas

Bitter Christmas follows Elsa, an advertising director who suppresses her grief after her mother dies in December by immersing herself in her work. Following a crisis, she travels to Lanzarote with her friend Patricia, leaving her partner Bonifacio in Madrid. Her experiences run parallel to those of Raúl Durán, a filmmaker struggling with a creative block who writes a story that mirrors Elsa's life. The plot explores the intersection of reality and fiction through these two perspectives.

The film was written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar and produced by Agustín Almodóvar. It is the 22nd film directed by Almodóvar, following his previous work, The Room Next Door. The cast features Bárbara Lennie, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Victoria Luengo, Patrick Criado, and Milena Smit.

Produced in Spain by El Deseo, the movie had a budget of 12 million USD and earned 5 million USD at the worldwide box office. On TMDB, the film holds a rating of 6.2/10 based on 144 votes.
