Le Faux Soir

Set in Belgium during the German occupation of 1943, this upcoming historical drama follows members of a resistance group called the Independent Front. To boost public morale and mock the occupiers, the group risks their lives to produce a satirical version of Le Soir, the nation's primary propaganda newspaper. By mimicking the original publication's format and appearance, they create a spoof edition intended to ridicule the regime and its controlled media.

The film is directed by Michaël R. Roskam, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Bernard Falaise and Domenico La Porta. This production follows Roskam's previous work on Bullhead, The Drop, and Racer and the Jailbird. Arieh Worthalter stars in the lead role as Marc Yvon Aubrion. Produced by companies including Frakas Productions, Proximus, Shelter Prod, and Goodfellas, the project is a joint effort between Belgium and France. With a runtime of 133 minutes, the movie is scheduled for release on December 2, 2026.
