Babylon 5: A Call to Arms

Babylon 5: A Call to Arms is set in the universe of the Babylon 5 television series, some years after the events of that show. As the Interstellar Alliance nears its fifth anniversary, John Sheridan takes on a secret assignment involving new destroyers built with Vorlon and Minbari technology, a project overseen by Michael Garibaldi. A technomage named Galen begins appearing in the dreams of Sheridan and others, warning that the Drakh, former allies of the Shadows, are preparing a strike against Earth. Sheridan and the captain of the EAS Charon and a thief named Dureena Nafeel, all visited by Galen, must determine whether the warnings are real and act before the attack can be carried out. The film serves as a bridge between Babylon 5 and its spin-off series Crusade.

The film was directed by Michael Vejar, following his earlier Babylon 5 television film In the Beginning, and was written by J. Michael Straczynski, the creator of the series. Bruce Boxleitner, Jerry Doyle, Jeff Conaway and Tracy Scoggins reprise their roles from the show, while Carrie Dobro and Peter Woodward join the cast. It was produced by John Copeland for Turner Network Television and Babylonian Productions.

Released in 1999, the film runs 94 minutes. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.9 out of 10 from 134 votes, indicating a generally favorable response from viewers who have seen it, consistent with the following the franchise had built on television.
