Journey to Bethlehem

Journey to Bethlehem is a musical retelling of the Nativity story. Mary, a young woman faced with a responsibility she could never have expected, and Joseph, a man pulled between his love for her and his sense of duty, find their plans upended by forces beyond their control. A jealous king, determined to protect his throne at any cost, sets his sights on them, and the couple must navigate the danger surrounding the birth of their child. Told through a mix of traditional Christmas carols reworked into pop songs, the film blends humor and faith with music.

Adam Anders directs and co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Barsocchini, with Anders also producing alongside Brandt Andersen and Stephen Meinen. The cast is led by Fiona Palomo as Mary and Milo Manheim as Joseph, with Omid Djalili, Rizwan Manji and Geno Segers as the three wise men, and Moriah Peters among the credited performers, thirty in all. The film is a family-oriented drama with fantasy elements, made by Affirm Films and Monarch Media among others.

Released in November 2023, the film runs 99 minutes and was produced on a budget of 6 million dollars, going on to earn 8 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 6.5 rating from roughly 3,900 votes, while on TMDB its average is 7.7 from a much smaller base of just over a hundred ratings.
