Ape vs Mecha Ape

The US military develops a combat-ready artificial intelligence known as Mecha Ape after observing the destructive capabilities of a captive giant ape. During its initial trial, the robotic creature malfunctions and threatens to devastate downtown Chicago. To prevent the city's destruction, the military is forced to release the imprisoned giant primate to battle the mechanical monster.

Directed and written by Marc Gottlieb, this action and science fiction TV movie was released in 2023. It represents the first entry in a chronological series of films by the director, followed by Ape X Mecha Ape: New World Order in 2024.
