After Porn Ends

After Porn Ends is a 2012 American documentary directed by Bryce Wagoner. It follows several people who became well known in the adult entertainment industry and looks at what their lives became once they stopped performing. The film gives room to former stars such as Amber Lynn, Asia Carrera, Mary Carey, Crissy Moran, Raylene and Nina Hartley, who speak about how they entered the business, what their working lives were like and how they dealt with the shift back to ordinary existence. Their experiences differ widely: some describe the transition with acceptance and a sense of having found stability, while others recount lasting personal and emotional difficulties and speak of trying to move past what the work left behind.

Wagoner directed the film and produced it with Susan Dynner and Andy Weiss, through Mallick Media and Oxymoron Entertainment; it runs 90 minutes. It was his first documentary and the first entry in a series he continued with After Porn Ends 2 in 2017, which followed five years later.

Audience response has been moderate and consistent across the two platforms where it is rated: it holds 5.7 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 8,300 votes and 5.6 out of 10 on TMDB from about 300 votes. The ratings point to a documentary that drew a sizable audience interest relative to its profile but left viewers divided.
