National Security

Earl Montgomery is a loud former police academy student who was expelled for his lack of discipline. After a chaotic encounter during a traffic stop, he and police officer Hank Rafferty both end up working as low-level security guards for a company called National Security. Despite their mutual dislike and opposite personalities, the two are forced to partner up. Together, they uncover a smuggling operation involving dangerous criminals and possible corruption within the police department.

This action comedy was directed by Dennis Dugan and is the sixth of 14 films he has directed, following Saving Silverman and preceding The Benchwarmers. The movie stars Martin Lawrence and Steve Zahn, with a supporting cast that includes Colm Feore, Bill Duke, Eric Roberts, and Timothy Busfield. The production involved 128 credited crew members and 55 credited cast members.

Financially, the film earned 50 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception was mixed, with a rating of 5.6/10 from 57,000 votes on IMDb and 6/10 from 1,100 votes on TMDB. These viewers were more positive than professional critics, who gave the film a rating of 3.5/10 based on 89 reviews.
