Laura is a successful plastic surgeon approaching forty who feels a certain emptiness in her life. She becomes involved with Gustavo, a younger nurse, and the affair draws her into a level of desire she has not experienced before. What begins as an intense romance turns into a dangerous game of desire and seduction in which no one is quite who they appear to be. The story is a drama with romantic and thriller elements, set in Mexico.
Dark Seduction, originally titled Oscura seducción, was released in 2010 and runs 89 minutes. It was directed by Walter Doehner, whose only previous feature was The Blue Room in 2002, and written by Erick Ismael Hernández. Elizabeth Cervantes plays Laura, with Julio Bekhor as Gustavo, Claudia Schmidt as Rosario and Rocío Vázquez as Gabriela. It was produced by Lionsgate.
Audience reactions diverge sharply: on IMDb the film holds a rating of 4.5 out of 10 from 481 votes, while on TMDB it scores 6.8 out of 10 from 103 votes. The contrast suggests a small but appreciative audience alongside a broader, much less favourable response.
