Halloween H20: 20 Years Later

Set twenty years after the events that scarred her, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later follows Laurie Strode as she tries to live quietly in Northern California. She has taken a new name, Keri Tate, and works as headmistress of a private school, raising her teenage son John and keeping her past hidden from her colleague and boyfriend, Will Brennan. The trauma of that earlier night still shapes her daily life, and it has strained her relationship with John. When Halloween approaches, she learns that Michael Myers has found her, and the danger that she thought she had left behind returns to the school and the people around her.

The film was directed by Steve Miner, the ninth of the thirteen features he directed in chronological order, coming between Big Bully and Lake Placid. Matt Greenberg and Robert Zappia wrote the screenplay, and Paul Freeman produced. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie, with Josh Hartnett as John, Adam Arkin as Will, and Michelle Williams, Adam Hann-Byrd and Jodi Lyn O'Keefe among the credited cast of twenty-five.

Made for about 17 million dollars, it took in roughly 75 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.8 out of 10 from 88,000 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from 1,860 votes, while critics gave it 5.6 out of 10 across 69 reviews, placing it in line with its audience scores.
