The Suicide Shop

The Suicide Shop is set in a bleak city where residents are deeply unhappy and frequently seek ways to end their lives. The Tuvache family has prospered for generations by running a successful business that sells the tools and poisons necessary for these acts. This profitable routine is disrupted by the birth of Alan, a child whose natural cheerfulness and zest for life clash with the gloomy atmosphere of the family enterprise.

This musical animation marks the first venture into the genre for director and screenwriter Patrice Leconte, who previously directed films such as The Hairdresser's Husband and French Fried Vacations 3: Friends Forever. The voice cast includes Bernard Alane, Isabella Spade, Kacey Mottet Klein, Isabelle Giami, Laurent Gendron, and Pierre-François Martin-Laval.

Produced in Belgium, Canada, and France, the film earned 3 million USD at the worldwide box office. It holds a rating of 6.2/10 on IMDb based on 9,200 votes and 6.3/10 on TMDB from 639 votes. A film critics' rating of 6.5/10 from 7 reviews is slightly higher than the scores provided by the general audience.
