High School Musical 3: Senior Year

High School Musical 3: Senior Year follows Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez as they reach their final year at East High. With graduation approaching, the two face the prospect of attending different colleges and being apart for the first time in a long while. Together with their friends among the Wildcats, they stage a spring musical that lets them work through their experiences, hopes and fears about what comes next. Kenny Ortega directs from a screenplay by Peter Barsocchini, continuing the series he began with High School Musical in 2006 and High School Musical 2 in 2007; it is the third of the eleven features he has directed, arriving between High School Musical 2 and This Is It.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens return as Troy and Gabriella, joined by Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman. The production, from Walt Disney Pictures, carried a budget of 11 million USD and went on to take about 253 million USD worldwide, a strong return on its cost.

Audience response has been moderate: on IMDb it holds 5.1/10 from around 72,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.5/10 from roughly 3,600 votes. A critics' rating of 6/10 from 131 reviews places it close to the audience scores on both sites.
