Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Set during the Clone Wars, this animated adventure follows Anakin Skywalker and his newly assigned Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, as they are sent to find and rescue the kidnapped son of the Tatooine crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Their mission puts them in the path of Count Dooku and his assassin Asajj Ventress, who are working against them. Elsewhere, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda lead the Republic's clone army against the Separatist droid forces. Released in 2008, the film serves as an introduction to the animated series of the same name and was the first animated Star Wars feature to reach theatres.

Dave Filoni directed the film, his first feature, working from a screenplay by Henry Gilroy, Steven Melching and Scott Murphy, with Catherine Winder producing. The voice cast includes Matt Lanter as Anakin, Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka, James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan, Dee Bradley Baker as the clone troopers, David Acord as Rotta, and Christopher Lee as Count Dooku. Produced for about 9 million dollars, it took in roughly 68 million worldwide, a strong return on its budget.

Reception was mixed. On IMDb it holds 6 out of 10 from around 81,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.2 out of 10 from roughly 2,300 votes, while the film critics' rating stands at 4.3 out of 10 from 170 reviews, notably lower than the audience scores at the time.
