El bolero de Rubén

Based on a play of the same name, El bolero de Rubén is a tragedy centering on Marta, a woman living in a house that remains unfinished. After spending fifteen years waiting for her partner to be released from prison, she finds herself trapped by her surroundings. Her desire to pursue a singing career leads her into imaginary landscapes that mirror her inner feelings of fear, anger, and disappointment.

The film was written and directed by Juan Carlos Mazo, who also served as a producer alongside Majida Issa and Deisy Marroquin. Produced in Colombia by Wideangle Films and Oasis Films, the movie features Majida Issa in the lead role of Marta. The supporting cast includes Marlon Moreno as Rubén, Diego Cadavid as Yeison, Juliana Velázquez as Patricia, Aída Morales as Doña Cruz, and Jordana Issa as Cecilia. This production blends elements of crime, drama, music, romance, and thriller over a runtime of 120 minutes.
