Short description
Set in Ramadi, Iraq, during 2006, this war film follows a platoon of Navy SEALs on a dangerous surveillance mission. After occupying a residential building to monitor insurgent activity, the soldiers are caught in a violent ambush. The story focuses on the soldiers' efforts to save their wounded comrades while trapped in enemy territory, exploring the brotherhood and chaos of modern conflict through the memories of those involved.
The movie was co-directed and co-written by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland. For Garland, this project follows his work on Civil War and precedes Elden Ring. The cast features D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, and Taylor John Smith. Produced by A24 and DNA Films, the production had a budget of 20 million USD and earned 35 million USD at the worldwide box office.

What's left behind the scenes
- The studio gave the green light for production back in early 2023, but Garland and Mendosa had to postpone casting until December due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
- Filming took place over 25 days at the Bovingdon Studios near London.
- During filming, the actors lived in the same hotel in Hertfordshire for five weeks and quickly became friends. Before a three-week combat training course, they even performed a symbolic fraternization ritual, shaving each other's heads. The actors also gave each other nicknames. Charles Melton was nicknamed Top after his surfer father. Poulter, who constantly reminded his colleagues about laundry, became Daddy. Taylor John Smith was dubbed Lamb, Keith Connor – Mug, and Cosmo Jarvis – Scruff; the same nickname belonged to the real Elliot Miller.
