Short description
This family adventure film is a modern adaptation of the fairy tale by Alexei Tolstoy. The story follows a wooden boy who comes to life after a lonely craftsman named Papa Carlo uses a magical key to fulfill his wish for a son. As the cheerful boy realizes he is different from others, he embarks on a journey filled with adventures to prove his worth and devotion to his father.
Directed by Igor Voloshin, this project follows his previous works including Atlantika, Obsessed, and the first part of The Wizard of the Emerald City. What's left behind the scenes
- Filming began in the fall of 2024 and concluded in December. Most of it took place at the Moskino Film Park, where an Italian town from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries was constructed, complete with a town hall square, fountains, a bakery and pharmacy, merchant stalls, and a trattoria.
- To create the 3D model of Buratino, Igor Voloshin's son was scanned. According to the director, he wanted the character to seem as if he were created from several layers, including the director himself, his son with recognizable features, and Vitaly Kornienko.
- The final musical scene was filmed over two days. The shoot was preceded by a separate, full-scale rehearsal day with all the actors, dancers, and extras. The choreography for the number was staged by Vladimir Varnava; in total, more than 200 people were involved in the final scene, including 35 professional dancers.
