Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging follows Georgia Nicolson, a fourteen-year-old navigating the embarrassments and anxieties of adolescence. She keeps a diary chronicling her life with her parents, her younger sister, and her closest friends, and she longs to reinvent herself: blonder hair, a smaller nose, and a boyfriend. Her sights settle on Robbie, a boy at school, but he is involved with someone Georgia considers a rival. Alongside her friends, she schemes to win his attention, while her father's job offer abroad threatens to upend the family.

Gurinder Chadha directed and co-wrote the film, which sits between Paris Je T'aime and Viceroy's House in her filmography. The screenplay is credited to Chadha, Paul Mayeda Berges, and Will McRobb, with Lynda Obst and Chadha producing. Georgia Groome plays Georgia, with Eleanor Tomlinson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tommy Bastow, Alan Davies, and Karen Taylor among the cast of twenty-three credited performers. It was released in July 2008 and runs 100 minutes.

The film earned about 15 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.3 out of 10 from roughly 32,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.5 out of 10 from around 842 votes. A critics' rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 26 reviews places it below both audience scores.
