Nine individuals were transformed into cyborgs to serve as weapons for a secretive organization. Instead of following orders, they rebelled against their creators to protect humanity. Years later, a series of global terrorist attacks targeting major cities forces the group to reunite. The team must recover their lost memories and use their specialized abilities to uncover the conspiracy behind the violence and save the world once again.

Directed and written by Kenji Kamiyama, this Japanese science fiction animation was released in 2012. It is the sixth film in a chronological sequence of works by the director, following two Eden of the East movies and three Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex films. The voice cast includes Mamoru Miyano as Joe Shimamura, Sakiko Tamagawa as Ivan Whisky, Daisuke Ono as Jet Link, Chiwa Saito as Françoise Arnoul, Toru Okawa as Albert Heinrich, and Teruyuki Tanzawa as Geronimo Jr.

The production was a collaboration between Nippon Television Network Corporation, Production I.G, VAP, and T-JOY. Financially, the film earned 3 million USD worldwide. Audience reception is mixed to positive, with a rating of 5.8/10 from 651 votes on IMDb and a higher score of 7/10 from 116 votes on TMDB.
