Hell Hole

Hell Hole is a horror and science fiction film set in a remote part of Serbia, where an American-led fracking crew makes an unexpected discovery. Deep in the ground lies the preserved body of a French soldier from the Napoleonic era. The soldier is still alive, and something parasitic is growing inside him. Once the drilling wakes it, the creature breaks out and moves through the isolated crew in search of a new host, setting off a fight for survival.

The film is directed by John Adams and Toby Poser, who also wrote the screenplay with Lulu Adams. It is the second feature in the directing pair's chronological filmography, following Where the Devil Roams in 2023 and preceding Mother of Flies in 2025 and The Glorious Dead in 2026. Poser and Adams also star as Emily and John, alongside Max Portman as Teddy, Anders Hove as a French Imperial Army commander, Olivera Peruničić as Sofija and Aleksandar Trmčić as Nikola. It was produced by Justin A. Martell and Matt Manjourides for Not The Funeral Home on a budget of about one million dollars.

Released on August 23, 2024, the film runs 92 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 10 from roughly 1,500 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5 out of 10 from 49 votes. A critics' rating of 6.6 out of 10 from 41 reviews places it noticeably above the audience scores on both platforms.
