Love Me Tender is a drama and history film set in Paris during late summer. The story follows Clémence, a former lawyer and aspiring novelist, who informs her ex-husband, Laurent, that she has been involved in relationships with women. This revelation causes their previously friendly shared custody arrangement for their eight-year-old son, Paul, to collapse. Laurent subsequently seeks sole custody, arguing that Clémence's lifestyle is harmful to the child. This sparks a legal battle spanning several years, as Clémence fights to maintain her relationship with her son while asserting her right to personal and sexual autonomy.
The film was directed and written by Anna Cazenave Cambet. It features a cast led by Vicky Krieps as Clémence Delcourt, Antoine Reinartz as Laurent, Monia Chokri as Sarah, and Viggo Ferreira Redier as Paul, with a total of 26 credited cast members.
