Chopin, a Sonata in Paris

Set in Paris in 1835, this historical drama follows the life of twenty-five-year-old Frédéric Chopin. A favorite of the French aristocracy and the King, Chopin is a celebrated figure of the city's high society and salons. While he balances giving piano lessons with attending lavish parties and performing concerts, he hides a serious illness behind a mask of irony. As he realizes his time is limited, music becomes his sole obsession, driving him to compose his greatest works and attempt to revolutionize his art before his death.

The film was directed by Michał Kwieciński, who also served as a producer alongside Małgorzata Fogel-Gabryś. The screenplay was written by Bartosz Janiszewski. Eryk Kulm jr stars as Fryderyk Chopin, supported by a cast that includes Joséphine de la Baume as George Sand, Victor Meutelet as Ferenc Liszt, and Lambert Wilson as King Louis Philippe. In total, 51 cast members are credited in the production.

Produced in Poland by TVP, Akson Studio, MIK, and Canal+ Polska, the movie was released on October 10, 2025. It has received a moderate reception from viewers, holding a rating of 6.8/10 on TMDB based on 29 votes.
