Silent Rebellion

Set during World War II in a rural Protestant community, this historical drama follows fifteen-year-old Emma. After becoming pregnant following a sexual assault, she must navigate the moral hypocrisy of her village. The story focuses on her struggle for self-determination and emancipation as she seeks to define her own life despite the repressive social norms of the era.

The film was directed by Marie-Elsa Sgualdo, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Nadine Lamari. It is a joint production between Belgium, France, and Switzerland, involving production companies such as RTBF and RTS. The cast is led by Lila Gueneau in the role of Emma, appearing alongside Grégoire Colin, Thomas Doret, Aurélia Petit, Sandrine Blancke, and Sasha Gravat Harsch.
