Corbari

Based on a true story, this war film follows Silvio Corbari, a man who forms an independent partisan group in Northern Italy during the Nazi occupation. After witnessing a brutal execution and killing a fascist associate, Corbari establishes his own resistance movement separate from the organized Italian resistance. Along with his lover Ines, who left her husband to join the cause, he manages to create a free zone and a personal republic in the village of Tregnano. However, the group eventually faces the overwhelming power of the Nazi-fascist army, leading to the capture and death of his followers.

Directed by Valentino Orsini, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Renato Niccolai, the film stars Giuliano Gemma in the title role alongside Tina Aumont. Produced by Terzafilm Produzione Indipendente, the movie features a supporting cast including Antonio Piovanelli, Frank Wolff, Alessandro Haber, and Adolfo Lastretti.
