Cleaner

Cleaner is a crime thriller about Tom Cutler, a former police officer who now runs his own business cleaning up the aftermath of deaths. He is raising his daughter Rose on his own and takes pride in leaving no sign that anything happened in the rooms he treats. When he is hired to deal with the scene of a shooting at a house in an affluent suburb, he carries out the job as usual, only to discover afterwards that the killing was never reported to the authorities. Realising that he has destroyed evidence without knowing it, he is drawn into a cover-up and must work out what really happened before suspicion falls on him. Ann Norcut, whose husband has disappeared from the house, and Eddie Lorenzo, a friend still serving in the police, are among those around him, though not everyone is telling the whole truth.

The film was directed by Renny Harlin, the fourteenth of twenty-eight features he has made, following The Covenant and preceding 12 Rounds. Matthew Aldrich wrote the screenplay, and Samuel L. Jackson, who also produced, plays Cutler, with Ed Harris, Eva Mendes, Luis Guzmán, Keke Palmer and Maggie Lawson in supporting roles.

Released in 2007, it runs 88 minutes and took in about 6 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.1 from 30 votes, while on TMDB it averages 6.1 from 970. A critics' rating of 4.3 from 12 reviews places it below the audience scores.
