Straightheads

Alice, a successful businesswoman, becomes involved with Adam, a younger man installing a security system at her home. After a party, the two are attacked on a country road: Adam is badly beaten and Alice is sexually assaulted. Rather than go to the police, they decide to track down those responsible and take revenge themselves. Their plan proves harder to carry out than expected, and the pressure strains their relationship as much as it drives them.

Straightheads is a British thriller released in 2007, directed and written by Dan Reed. It was the first feature he directed, followed years later by documentaries including The Truth vs. Alex Jones and Stopping the Steal. Gillian Anderson plays Alice and Danny Dyer plays Adam, with Adam Rayner, Antony Byrne, Anthony Calf and Ralph Brown in supporting roles. It runs 88 minutes and was produced by Ingenious Media, Film4 Productions, the UK Film Council and DJ Films.

The film drew a critics' rating of 4.6 out of 10 from 21 reviews, while audience response on TMDB stands at 5.3 out of 10 from 127 votes.
