Dracula 3D

Dracula 3D is a horror film set in nineteenth-century Transylvania. Jonathan Harker travels to the remote village of Passo Borgo to take up a position in the library of Count Dracula's castle, leaving his wife Mina behind. He soon discovers the true nature of his host, whose interest in Mina goes beyond ordinary desire: the count believes she is the reincarnation of a woman he loved and lost centuries earlier. As deaths multiply in the village, the vampire hunter Abraham van Helsing becomes the only person who might stand against the count and his followers.

The film is directed by Dario Argento from a screenplay he wrote with Antonio Tentori and Enrique Cerezo, and it is the sixteenth of the seventeen features he has directed, following The Mother of Tears and preceding Dark Glasses. Thomas Kretschmann plays Dracula, with Asia Argento as Lucy, Rutger Hauer as van Helsing, Marta Gastini as Mina, Unax Ugalde as Jonathan Harker and Miriam Giovanelli as Tania, among twenty-two credited cast members. Produced in Spain, Italy and France on a budget of about six million dollars, it met with a poor reception: on IMDb it holds a rating of 3.6 from roughly 5,700 votes, on TMDB 3.5 from about 246, while a film critics' rating stands at 3.7 from thirty reviews.
