Pinocchio

A lonely carpenter named Geppetto carves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio, hoping for a son to keep him company. Through magic, the puppet comes to life, but his disobedient nature and love for mischief lead him into various dangers. While Geppetto searches for him, Pinocchio encounters deceptive characters and visits the Land of Toys, eventually being transformed into a donkey. With the help of the Blue Fairy and other companions, he navigates these trials, eventually reuniting with his father after both are swallowed by a large fish.

Directed and written by Enzo D'Alò, this animated family fantasy was released on October 5, 2012. It is the second of three listed films in the director's career, following Lucky and Zorba and preceding A Greyhound of a Girl. The production was a collaboration between companies from Italy, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The voice cast includes Gabriele Caprio as Pinocchio, alongside Rocco Papaleo, Paolo Ruffini, Maurizio Micheli, Lucio Dalla, and Pino Quartullo.

The film had a budget of 8 million USD and earned 2 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 6/10 on IMDb based on 403 votes and a rating of 5.9/10 on TMDB from 33 votes.
