Set in Slovakia during the late 1980s, this historical drama follows Ingrid, a gynecologist at a district hospital whose personal life is strained by a failing marriage and a romantic involvement with a younger coworker. In her professional role, Ingrid serves on an abortion committee that suggests sterilization to Roma women once their procedures are authorized. The arrival of Agáta, an eighteen-year-old former foster child starting work as a nurse, leads to an unexpected bond between the two women.
The film was directed by Ivan Ostrochovský, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Following his previous works, including Velvet Terrorists, Servants, Photophobia, and Igor and After, this production is a collaboration between Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The cast is led by Anna Geislerová in the role of Ingrid, alongside Simona Boledovičová as Agáta, Vlad Ivanov, Eva Mores, Éva Bandor, and Attila Mokos. Produced by Proton Cinema, Česká televize, Negativ, and Punkchart films, the movie has a runtime of 88 minutes.
