The Flock

Erroll Babbage is a federal agent whose job is to keep watch over convicted sex offenders released back into the community. He has spent years doing this work and has little patience for the rules that govern it, so his superiors decide to push him into retirement. Before he leaves, he is told to train Allison Lowry, the young agent who will take his place. When a teenage girl disappears, Babbage becomes convinced that one of his parolees is responsible, although the police would rather he stay out of the investigation. Allison, initially doubtful, ends up working alongside him as he pursues the case through places most people never see.

The Flock was directed by Andrew Lau Wai-Keung, the nineteenth of the twenty-five films he has directed, following the 2006 release of 无间道正序版 and preceding Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen in 2010. Richard Gere plays Babbage, with Claire Danes as Allison Lowry. The supporting cast includes KaDee Strickland, Ray Wise, Russell Sams and Avril Lavigne among thirty-four credited performers. The screenplay is by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell, and Lau produced with Adam Richman and Jenette Kahn.

The film was made for around 35 million US dollars and took in roughly 7 million worldwide, a poor return on its budget. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 288 votes.
