Adult World

Amy has just finished college with a degree in poetry and is convinced she is meant to become a major literary figure. Reality intervenes: she moves back in with her parents, sends out applications without success, and faces student loans and no income. The only job she can get is behind the counter of an adult bookstore called Adult World. There she encounters Rat Billings, the reclusive poet she admires, who takes her on as his assistant at Syracuse University. With encouragement from her friend Alex, Amy tries to balance the demands of becoming an adult with her ambition to be an artist.
