The Truce

Set during the Second World War, this historical drama follows two Spanish soldiers, Captain Reyes and Lieutenant Salgado, who are imprisoned in the Karlag labor camp in Kazakhstan. Having fought on opposing sides during the Spanish Civil War, the former enemies must set aside their political ideologies and collaborate to endure the hunger, cold, and brutality of the Soviet Gulag system. The story focuses on their struggle for survival and the preservation of human dignity within the camp.

The film was directed by Miguel Ángel Vivas, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Ignasi Rubio and Fran Carballal. This project follows his previous work on Siege. The production is a joint effort between Kazakhstan and Spain, involving production companies Plano a Plano, Amanat Capital, and Umaifilm. The main cast features Miguel Herrán as Salgado and Arón Piper as Reyes, supported by Javier Pereira, Fernando Valdivielso, Alejandro Jato, and Federico Pérez Rey.
