Dead Man on Campus

Dead Man on Campus is a 1998 comedy about two roommates at Daleman University whose partying has left them facing academic failure and expulsion. Josh Miller, a serious student who has lost his scholarship track, and Cooper Frederickson, a wealthy slacker, learn of an old college provision: a student whose roommate dies receives automatic passing grades on grounds of emotional distress. Hoping to avoid flunking out, the pair set out to find a classmate with suicidal tendencies and persuade him to move in with them. Tom Everett Scott and Mark-Paul Gosselaar play the leads, with Poppy Montgomery, Lochlyn Munro, Randy Pearlstein and Corey Page among the supporting cast.

Alan Cohn directed the film, from a screenplay by Michael Traeger and Mike White, with Gale Anne Hurd producing for Paramount, MTV Films and Pacific Western. It was made for about 14 million dollars and took in roughly 15 million worldwide.
