A group of friends sets out for a night of drinking, and the next morning they wake to find the power gone, phone signals dead, and radios giving up nothing but static. The blackout turns out to be the first sign of something far larger: enormous alien craft appear over Britain, plunging the country into chaos. As the visitors begin attacking whatever moves, the friends try to stay alive and reach safety, with the roads and streets around them descending into disorder.
U.F.O. is a British science fiction action film directed by Dominic Burns, who also wrote the screenplay and produced it with Tim Major and Alain Wildberger. It was his second feature as director, following How to Stop Being a Loser, and it was released in December 2012, with Airborne arriving later that same year. The cast is led by Bianca Bree, Sean Brosnan, Simon Phillips and Peter Barrett, with Jean-Claude Van Damme appearing as George and Joey Ansah as a police officer and black ops soldier; 32 performers are credited in all. Made for about 3 million dollars, the film has drawn weak audience scores, sitting at 3 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 3,900 votes and 4.3 out of 10 on TMDB from a few hundred ratings.
