Short description
Kung Fury is a martial-arts-obsessed Miami police detective in the 1980s who loses a friend to Adolf Hitler, the era's most dangerous kung fu criminal, known as Kung Führer. Determined to avenge the killing and put an end to the Nazi regime, he travels back in time to the Second World War. A technical mishap throws him off course, landing him among Vikings, and he has to find a way home before he can settle the score. The short blends action and comedy with fantasy and science fiction, throwing dinosaurs, Nazis, Vikings and robots into the same story as a tribute to 1980s cinema.
David Sandberg wrote and directed the film and also plays the lead role, with Jorma Taccone as Hitler, Leopold Nilsson as Hackerman, Andreas Cahling as Thor, Helene Ahlson as Katana and Eos Karlsson as Red Ninja among the 26 credited cast members. It was produced by Eleni Young and Linus Andersson through Laser Unicorns and Lampray, and runs 32 minutes. The film is a United States and Sweden co-production released on 22 May 2015.
Audiences rate it highly: on IMDb it holds 7.9 out of 10 from around 65,000 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 7.5 out of 10 from roughly 2,000 votes. The similar figures reflect a short film that found a large, appreciative audience.

- The film was shot in the office of director David Sandberg in Umeå, Sweden. Additional filming took place in Stockholm.
- Since David Sandberg only had enough funds for one police uniform when making the trailer, he had to film each person separately for the scene in the police station.
