Hotel Excelsior

A mysterious concierge leads the viewer through four different narratives that take place in the same hotel room over the course of a century. The stories include a Jewish businessman spending a solitary holiday with his daughter and a woman whose plan to end her life results in a transformative encounter. Other segments focus on an aging rock band dealing with their public image and a young woman who views a relationship with a callboy as a path to financial freedom.

This Swiss comedy and drama was directed by Talkhon Hamzavi, who also co-wrote the screenplay. It is the second film Hamzavi has directed, following Parvaneh from 2012.
