Set in a quiet American suburb during the summer of 1958, the story follows two orphaned sisters who are placed under the care of their aunt, Ruth. A mentally unstable woman with a sadistic approach to discipline, Ruth subjects the girls to escalating abuse and torture. The violence eventually involves her own sons and other local children. A twelve-year-old neighbor named David becomes emotionally attached to the older sister, Megan, and witnesses the horrors taking place in the household, an experience that permanently alters his life. Based on true events, the film is an adaptation of a novel by Jack Ketchum.
Directed by Gregory Wilson, the movie features Blythe Auffarth as Meg Loughlin and Daniel Manche as David Moran. The cast also includes Graham Patrick Martin, Grant Show, Catherine Mary Stewart, and Michael Zegen. This crime drama and horror thriller was produced by Modernciné and Modern Girl Productions.
