The Last Slap

Siblings Petra and Jure are struggling financially while living in a cold, sparsely populated village. Hoping to fund the restoration of an old lakeside house, the pair attempts to earn a large reward by searching for a missing dog named Marlowe. Their efforts bring them into conflict with a ruthless businessman named Nicola. As their scheme fails, their Christmas holiday transforms into a chaotic series of unexpected events.

This comedy-drama is a co-production between Italy and Slovenia, produced by companies including RAI Cinema and RTV Slovenija. It was directed by Matteo Oleotto, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Salvatore De Mola and Pierpaolo Piciarelli. The film features a cast including Massimiliano Motta as Jure and Adalgisa Manfrida as Petra, with additional roles played by Giuseppe Battiston, Giovanni Ludeno, Primož Pirnat, and Davide Iacopini. The movie has a runtime of 100 minutes and was released on January 8, 2026.
