Raging Sun, Raging Sky follows two young men, Kieri and Ryo, whose intense love for each other is tested when Ryo is abducted. Kieri sets out on a wandering search for him, guided by a female spirit known as the heart of heaven. Ryo manages to get free, but the two still face obstacles that demand they prove the depth of their bond, and the film frames their devotion as a mythic struggle in which loss and sacrifice are bound up with love.
The film is written and directed by Julián Hernández, his second feature after Broken Sky, and produced by Roberto Fiesco. Javier Oliván, Jorge Becerra and Guillermo Villegas play Tari, Kieri and Ryo, with Giovanna Zacarías as the spirit and Clarisa Rendón and Juan Carlos Torres in supporting roles; thirty performers are credited in all. It runs 191 minutes and was made for about 1 million USD, a modest budget for a film of that length. Audience response has been mixed: on IMDb it holds 5.9/10 from 587 votes, and on TMDB 5.4/10 from 24 votes, a lower figure drawn from a far smaller group of viewers.
