Stories About My Body is a comedy and drama set in a small theatre in Aotearoa, New Zealand. The film follows Morgana, who uses her own body to recount various formative experiences. Her narrative spans from her youth in 1998 to her time working at foot-fetish gatherings in New York City, and eventually to finding love and giving birth in a Melbourne living room. Supported by four teenage stagehands, she reflects on her physical self, oscillating between dissatisfaction with her appearance and admiration for her biological functions. The production incorporates nudity and actual footage of childbirth.
The project was co-directed by Peter Salmon and Morgana O'Reilly, who also created the work and stars as herself. Salmon entered the 2025 BAFTA nominations. The cast includes Perlina Lau, Kate Simmonds, Lucia Waspe, Freya Wano, and Hannah Stanley. Produced by THIRTYTWOTEETH, the New Zealand film has a runtime of 67 minutes.
