Anatomy 2 is a German horror thriller about a young doctor named Jo Hauser, who moves to Berlin to take up an internship at a renowned clinic. His hope is to deepen his medical training and to find a way to help his younger brother, who is confined to a wheelchair. The professor who heads the clinic, Müller-LaRousse, leads a secret research project that ignores ethical limits, and Jo is drawn into the professor's inner circle. He discovers that the people around him are conducting experiments on themselves and on others, testing artificial muscle tissue, and his growing doubts put him in danger.
Stefan Ruzowitzky wrote and directed the film, a sequel to his 2000 feature Anatomy and the second entry in his filmography. Barnaby Metschurat plays Jo, with Herbert Knaup as Müller-LaRousse, Heike Makatsch, Roman Knizka and Wotan Wilke Möhring among the supporting cast, and Franka Potente appearing as Paula Henning, a character carried over from the first film. The production was handled by Claussen+Wöbke Filmproduktion.
Response to the film was modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.1 from around four thousand votes, and on TMDB it has 5.6 from a much smaller number of votes. A critics' rating of 4.4 from six reviews places it below even the mixed audience scores, suggesting that neither viewers nor reviewers found it among the stronger entries in Ruzowitzky's career.
