A girl has been murdered, and the police believe a religious studies teacher named Dror is responsible. Detective Miki is so convinced of Dror's guilt that he tortures him during questioning, a mistake that costs him his job when the act is recorded. Released from custody, Dror remains the prime suspect, and Miki keeps following him even without a badge. Meanwhile, the father of the victim is pursuing his own plan for the man he holds responsible, and the three men are drawn into a collision that crosses the line between law and revenge. The story unfolds in Israel.
Big Bad Wolves was released in 2013, the feature debut of co-directors Navot Papushado and Aharon Keshales, who also wrote the screenplay together. Each director has since made one further film, in 2021. The cast includes Lior Ashkenazi as Miki, Tzahi Grad as Gidi, Rotem Keinan as Dror, Doval'e Glickman, Menashe Noy and Dvir Benedek, among 28 credited performers. Produced by Moshe Edery, Leon Edery and Chilik Michaeli through United King Films and United Channel Movies, it runs 110 minutes and mixes crime, thriller, horror, drama and comedy.
On IMDb the film holds a critics' rating of 7.2 out of 10 from 69 reviews, while on TMDB it sits at 6.6 out of 10 from 435 votes, a gap suggesting reviewers responded more warmly than the wider audience.
