An aging mafia leader in Hong Kong, Ho Chen-tung, maintains stability between rival criminal groups by adhering to a strict code of honor. As the son attempts to reconcile with his father, the local police conclude a long-term investigation to gather evidence against the crime boss. During his subsequent trial, the unexpected behavior of younger gangsters challenges the principles the leader values, leaving the responsibility of restoring order to Han.
