Dying Breed

Dying Breed is a survival horror film set in the isolated wilderness of Tasmania. The story follows four hikers who venture into the bush to search for evidence of the extinct Tasmanian tiger. During their expedition, they encounter the descendants of Alexander Pearce, a nineteenth-century convict known as the Pieman who was executed for cannibalism. The group discovers that these inhabitants have maintained their ancestor's appetite for human flesh, turning the researchers into prey.

The film marks the cinematic debut of director Jody Dwyer, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Boughen and Rod Morris. The cast features Nathan Phillips, Leigh Whannell, Bille Brown, Mirrah Foulkes, Melanie Vallejo, and Elaine Hudson.
