All Dogs Go to Heaven 2

Charlie B. Barkin is a dog in heaven who gets a chance to return to Earth. When the archangel Gabriel's horn goes missing, Charlie is given a collar that brings him back to life for a single day and sent down to recover it, with his friend Itchy along for the trip. The mission soon lands the pair in trouble, and they are helped by David, a runaway boy, and his Irish setter. Standing in their way are two villainous figures, and time is running short before the collar's effect ends.

The film continues the story begun in Don Bluth's 1989 original, with a different directing team: Paul Sabella, whose earlier credit was Heavy Metal and who went on from here to An All Dogs Christmas Carol and Tom Sawyer, and Larry Leker. Charlie Sheen voices Charlie, Dom DeLuise returns as Itchy, Adam Wylie plays David, and Sheena Easton, Ernest Borgnine and George Hearn round out the cast. It was released in March 1996.

Made by MGM's animation division, the film took in about 9 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from roughly 7,200 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6 out of 10 from around 295 votes, so the smaller audience sample there is somewhat warmer. A critics' rating of 5.5 out of 10 from six reviews places professional opinion in line with the general viewer response.
