Short description
A bounty hunter who uses an axe for combat arrives in a corrupt mining town with a captive outlaw. He discovers that the town is controlled by a powerful landowner named McGowan, a man with whom the hunter has a dark history involving the death of his father. While seeking revenge, the protagonist is hired by McGowan to rescue his daughter from kidnappers. This conflict leads to a cycle of betrayal and violence in a lawless land.
Directed by Sergio Martino, this 1977 Italian western is the fifth of 13 films he directed, following Sex with a Smile and preceding Slave of the Cannibal God. The screenplay was written by Martino and Sauro Colvinoli, with Luciano Martino serving as producer. The film stars Maurizio Merli in the title role, alongside Philippe Leroy, John Steiner, and Sonja Jeannine. A total of 26 cast members are credited in the production.
