Private investigator Varg Veum is hired by an international oil drilling company to track down Arne Samuelsen, one of its missing employees. Searching the man's flat, Veum finds a woman's body in the refrigerator and is knocked unconscious. When he comes to, the body is gone and the police have arrived, leaving him to convince them of what he saw while he keeps digging into the case.
The film is a Norwegian crime thriller directed by Alexander Eik from a screenplay by Lars Skorpen, and it was made as a co-production between Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Trond Espen Seim plays Veum, with Bjørn Floberg as Jacob Hamre, Endre Hellestveit as Isachsen, Kathrine Fagerland as Anna Keilhaug, Dennis Storhøi as Hallvard Johnsen and Christian Rubeck as Kjetil. It runs 87 minutes and is one of the entries in the series of films adapted from the Varg Veum novels.
Released in September 2008 on a budget of about 12 million dollars, the film drew a modest response. On IMDb it holds a 6.4 rating from roughly 1,600 votes, while on TMDB its average is 5.7 from a much smaller base of about 40 votes. The wider vote count on IMDb suggests the film reached a settled audience within the crime series rather than a broad international one.
